The Ideas Competition
Submissions are open from October 7 to December 15, 2024!
Every year, we launch the ideaUP! Ideas competition. Creative minds from Salzburg and the surrounding areas can submit their innovative ideas. Whether you have a new technology, a revolutionary business concept, a simple idea sketch, or a startup on the verge of market entry – all ideas are welcome!
The best ideas will have the opportunity to choose a prize from a pool of awards that best suits their team. In addition, there are special prizes for the top entries in the social and environmental sectors, as well as in fields related to research, technology, and innovation. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in January 2025.
ideaUP! overview
- Submission period: October 07 to December 15, 2024
- An expert jury evaluates the business ideas according to degree of innovation, customer benefit, unique selling proposition, economic feasibility and realization potential.
- January 2025 Award ceremony for the ideaUP! winners with public voting (audience award)
Prices
Attractive prizes await the winners:
- 2 tickets to a startup festival of your choice (€500 each)
- Or 6 months of free work in a coworking space (FHStartup Center or Startup Salzburg)
- Photo shoot with a professional photographer
- Fixed starter place in the upcoming Startup Weekend for 2 people

Conditions of participation
- Target group: Idea providers from the province of Salzburg, the surrounding provinces and Bavaria
- The idea generators are at least 17 years old
